- I hardly exercise like I should and I just KNEW that I was in for a rude awakening
- I hadn't been feeling good that week-common cold
- It was going to be freezing
But despite the negativity that I was feeling, I ended up having the most incredible time. I realized that it doesn't matter how angry, moody, or even just downright negative you are, there is no denying the beauty of God's creation and that alone should be enough to turn anyone's frown upside down (sorry for the corny cliche).
The beauty of it all
On all sides of me, large rocks and broken sticks were scattered. The trees hadn't yet started to bloom so they were for the most part, still brown; and if you look far out to the west and squint your eyes just a bit you can just make out the LU monogram along the horizon.
There were families, elderly couples, young couples and even a few class trips. Although almost every person I saw looked worn and tired from the long trek up the mountain (except the go-getter with leg weights on) everyone had smiles on their faces. Honestly, I didn't see a single person complaining; and how could they?
I was surrounded by one of the most beautiful scenes imaginable and it was all created by the hands of God. How amazing is that?! I often times get too distracted by what I have going on and completely neglect all of the beauty that is around me.
I really should start trusting in the Lord more.
Trust in Him
God completely changed my attitude and I am so grateful! I was so sure that it was going to be a miserable time, but in the end not only was I able to get up the mountain exceptionally well (to my standards hehe), but it was warm enough that I actually got a little sun burn on my face!I really should start trusting in the Lord more.
Challenge
I want you all to take time out of your busy schedules to just stand back and admire God's handy work. I guarantee that no matter how stressed you are or what you are going through at the time, it will make everything seem just a little bit better :)
What places have you been that have reminded you of God's beautiful handiwork?
