To break every chain. "

Suicide is a thought, an idea that is placed into ones head by Satan. He wants to see you suffer, he wants to see you give up everything--or make you believe you have nothing. Just when you feel like there is even a sliver of hope, you can guarantee that Satan will be there ready to destroy you. 

How can I fix this pain? How can I heal this hurt? How can I escape this life that I live?

The answer to these questions are not solved by suicide. They are not solved by self-inflicted injury. They are not solved by alcohol, and they are not solved by drugs. They are not solved by (fill in the blank)..

The solution is simple and the solution stands alone: Jesus is the solution, He is not the problem.

Sometimes we get ourselves into situations that we feel make sense to us at the time. We live the lives that we want to live because we feel in control. But what happens when we want to get out-if we even want to get out? Satan whispers in our ear that we cannot escape. That it is too late to turn back. That there is no. other. way. 

And we believe him! DO NOT LET HIM FOOL YOU.

Here is the truth. One of my favorite songs says this: There is power in the name of Jesus. To break every chain.

It does not matter what you have done, how far you've gone or how long you have done it, because there is power in the name of jesus to break every chain. You can have freedom! All you have to do is leave behind your old self and let the power of Jesus Christ renew you. Let him be a part of you and you will have a hope like you have never had before, a peace that will calm you, a love that is truly unconditional, and joy that is so immense it can only come from God.

Being a Christ follower doesn't guarantee a perfect and happy life. You will still cross tough bridges and find your self in situations where you feel helpless. The difference is, you won't be alone. You can overcome any obstacle with Jesus. How comforting is it to know that when you struggle, you ALWAYS have someone to turn to? The Jesus is someone who understands every problem that we could possibly face, for he was a real person living on earth just as we are. 

When you feel like you are lost in the world and have nothing left to give, think again beloved! Because you have so much to give and you are not lost, but right where you need to be so long as you are in the presence of God! Let him comfort you. Let him change your heart.

I speak from experience when I talk about being so far gone that it doesn't seem possible to turn back. For years I spent my time concerning myself with things of the world and not of the spirit. I felt as if it was too late to turn back because I was already such a failure. But let me tell you, I have never been more wrong in my life.

At one low and vulnerable moment I decided to reach my hand out to God, and give it one last try. That was the single greatest moment of my life and I have never once regretted it. 

I experienced all of those great things that I talked about; hope, peace, love and joy. I have a new life in Christ and although I sometimes have tendencies to turn back to my old ways, or feel tempted by Satan, I know that I am not bound to my sin and that my father in heaven is there to remind me of his all sufficient love and grace for me. When I need him, He is there. 

 Romans 6:12-14 "Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions.Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness. For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace."

Believe in this verse. Believe that it is not to late to separate yourself from whatever is keeping you bound. Believe that you can break free from your chains, with the help of God.

I challenge those of us who are believers in Christ Jesus and the power of his name, to share with our lost and unsaved brothers and sisters in Christ, the hope and joy that comes from following such a great God.

I have lost two people to suicide and almost just lost a third this week. I shall make it my life goal to tell others of the hope, joy, love and peace that I have through Christ so that they might not ever need to feel like their life is worthless. No one's life is ever worthless because God created each and every one of us on this earth with purpose. It is up to us however, to find that purpose, and live it out to the fullest.
